What is the difference between a panel clinic/hospital and a non-panel clinic/hospital?

Ulink Myanmar can issue a letter of guarantee (LOG) to a panel clinic/hospital. With a LOG, members do not have to pay the clinic/hospital if members’ treatment is coverable under members’ insurance policy. Instead, the clinic/hospital will invoice Ulink directly for members’ medical charges. However, members will have to pay the clinic/hospital if there is an excess, deductible, or co-payment required.

Ulink Myanmar will not issue a LOG to a clinic/hospital that is not in the panel. If members prefer to visit a non-panel clinic/hospital, please pay the clinic’s invoice before submitting a claim for the medical charges through email. Ulink shall process a reimbursement for coverable charges under members’ insurance policy.

Where can I find a list of Ulink Myanmar’s panel clinics/ hospitals?

It can be downloaded from the Download Center of the specific insurance – can click on the logo of your insurance to reach Download Center

How to request LOG for outpatient GP & specialist medical appointment?

For scheduled outpatient appointments, please send a LOG request at least 3 – 4 hours before members’ appointment time.
Members are to arrange medical arrangements and email required info to Ulink at the email address stated on members’ insurance card. The required information includes
members’ name,
NIRC No. or Other ID Card
date of birth,
policy number,
company name,
appointment date,

all medical reports (if available)
Ulink will verify members’ details and email the LOG to the clinic and members upon confirmation. Member must bring along LOG (either softcopy or hard copy), membership card, and photo ID/passport.
If members require referral to another specialist or need further investigation/ procedure, please contact Ulink to issue superseded LOG.
After treatment, please pay the clinic/hospital’s invoice first. Thereafter, members may submit a claim for the medical charges via email. Ulink shall process a reimbursement for coverable charges under members’ insurance policy.

How long is an LOG valid for?

LOG is valid for 1 week from the date of issue. For any change of diagnosis, treating doctor or appointment needs to be rescheduled, please email Ulink to issue a revised LOG.

How to request an LOG for inpatient admission/ surgery?

For inpatient admission/surgery, please notify Ulink at least 3 to 5 working days before or, for emergency cases, as early as possible to avoid delay in LOG issuance. For treatments estimated to cost above USD 1,000 or for treatment outside Myanmar, please inform Ulink as early as possible as further approval from members’ insurer is required and the time required for approval depends on a case-by-case basis depending on the complexity of the case.

Members are to arrange admission and email required info to Ulink at the email address stated on members’ insurance card. The required information includes members’ name, NIRC no. or date of birth, policy number, company name, admission date, hospital name, treating doctor name, length of hospital stays, and all medical reports related to the admission with estimated cost (if any) from the hospital.

Ulink will verify members’ details and medical reports and issue an initial LOG to the clinic/hospital and members upon confirmation. Members must bring along LOG (either softcopy or hard copy), membership card and photo ID/passport.

In the case of an extension of hospitalization stay or if a superseded LOG is required, a member or hospital must inform Ulink before the extension period.

How to request an LOG for emergency hospital visit?

For emergency cases, please visit the nearest panel hospital/clinic and present a membership card / NIRC for them to contact Ulink. Ulink will issue a LOG to the hospital/clinic for coverable charges under members’ insurance policy. Members can then proceed for treatment and the clinic/hospital will send an invoice for members’ eligible medical charges to Ulink Myanmar.

How do I check if my treatment is coverable?

Before visiting a clinic or hospital, please send the following information to the Ulink email stated on members’ insurance card:

Name, NRIC no., policy number, the purpose of the visit, what surgery or procedure is being planned (if applicable).

Members’ agent or Ulink Myanmar will get back within 48 hours with more information on whether members’ treatment is coverable under current policy.
